Am I eligible to apply for an
Intern position?

eligibility criteria.
How many positions are available?
10 Intern positions are available. All
of these positions are full-time and for one year commencing 14 January 2013.
How are the interviews arranged?
No formal interviews will be held.
Representatives from all hospitals involved will be present at the Medical
Careers Expo – on Saturday 5 May 2012.
How much leave are Interns given
and how is it allocated?
Interns accrue 5 weeks annual leave. Two
weeks is to be taken during the year and the remaining three at the end.
Preference for annual leave are submitted with your rotation preference form.
What do I need to provide for my
non-clinical reference?
A non-clinical reference is a 200 word
reference from someone outside of the medical profession, preferably
non-clinical research. This can be from a past employer, sporting group,
volunteer organization or religious sector.
Who is the most appropriate person
to provide a clinical reference?
Please ensure Consultants who provide a
reference for you have worked with you for a period of at least 5 weeks.
This should include at least one hospital based clinical scenario. It is
fine to have a medical and surgical based reference.
