Hospital appeals for new equipment
Latrobe Regional Hospital is urging Gippslanders to open their hearts and their
wallets for its inaugural Christmas Equipment Appeal.
The Hospital treated 27,895 patients last
financial year, an increase of five per cent on last year.
While recognising times were tough for
many, Latrobe Regional Hospital chief executive Peter Craighead said the
increase in demand for patient services meant the Hospital was also feeling the
pinch.
The inaugural Christmas Equipment Appeal
will focus on four specific items that the Hospital needs to continue its work.
“We need to purchase blood pressure monitors, an electrocardiogram (ECG), specialist
trolleys, and a BIPAP machine,” Mr Craighead said.
“The BIPAP machine is especially useful for
patients with congestive heart failure or for those patients with lung
disorders.
“The purchase of these items of specialist
equipment will assist us to continue providing high quality patient care and
services to our community.
“Your donation, however large or small, to
our Christmas Equipment Appeal will make a difference to the Hospital and the
wider Gippsland community.
“Please help us to help you this Christmas
and think of us when making your donation to charity this year.”
To donate to the Christmas Equipment
Appeal, you can either call the Fundraising Department on 5173 8577, complete
and return the donation form in today’s edition of The Express or download a

Receipts and thank-you letters are issued
to all donors who provide their name and contact details, and donations over $2
are tax deductible.
