Barry Dunstan

Chair

Appointed to the Board in November 2000, Barry has almost 40 years experience in education, research and science within the university sector. Barry is a member of the State Government Committee of Board Chairs, the Gippsland Area Consultative Committee, member and Past President of the Moe Rotary Club and past member of the Rural and Regional Council of Victorian Healthcare Association.

 

Margaret Peters OAM

Deputy Chair

Deputy Chair since May 2003, Margaret has many years of experience in health administration and community involvement to contribute to the governance of LRH. Formerly the Deputy Director of Nursing at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne, Margaret has a special interest in health services for women, children and the aged. She is Chair of the Latrobe Community Health Service Board, a member of the West Gippsland Regional Library Corporation's Community Advisory Committee and a number of community organisations in Mirboo North.

 

Lorraine Bartling OAM

A Director of the Board since November 2002, Lorraine has had extensive experience and knowledge of community work. Lorraine is actively involved in many community endeavours including Chair of Yallambee Traralgon Village for the Aged Inc., Latrobe Safety Committee, Chair of Quantum Support Services Inc., member of Latrobe City International Relations Committee and member of the Gippsland Regional Clinical School Community Support Group.

 

Mark Biggs

Appointed to the Board in November 2003, Mark is a psychologist with an extensive management career in the health and human services sector including child protection, disability, occupational rehabilitation and project management. He has expertise in investigation, strategic planning, policy, risk assessment and business management.

 

Chris Browne

Chris is the Head of the Gippsland Medical School of Monash University. Educated in the United Kingdom at York and Oxford, Chris is the inaugural elected President of the Academic Board at Monash University.  Career highlights include creating the Centre for Medical and Health Sciences Education Faculty at Monash University and his role in the establishment of the College of Medicine at the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, and the Monash University Malaysia Medical School.

 

 

 

Greg Hade

Greg is the Director of Finance and Business Services for Loy Yang Power, where his responsibilities include the management of treasury, taxation, accounting, procurement and warehousing, information technology and business development. Appointed to the Board in November 2000, Greg is also a Certified Practicing Accountant.

 

Susan Lloyd

Appointed to the Board in July 2008, Susan is the Chief Executive Officer for getGP - Gippsland Education and Training for General Practice. Susan has experience in public office having served as a Councilor on the Latrobe City Council from 2005 to 2008.  Her work experience includes working in the private and public sectors specialising in community relations, community development and the environment. Susan is a recipient of State and International fellowships to researching leadership. Susan is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Gippsland Community Leadership Program.

 

 

Kellie O’Callaghan

Appointed to the Board in 2005, Kellie has extensive knowledge and experience in the development and management of community based organisations. Currently a Rehabilitation Consultant with CRS Australia and a Program Advisor in Infant Parent Mental Health, Kellie also works closely with a number of smaller non-profit organisations to develop community capacity building projects. As a consumer of health services both at the Hospital and larger metropolitan hospitals, Kellie is committed to ensuring that the broader Gippsland community has access to quality patient care and services that are well resourced and sustainable.

 

Suzanne Hasthorpe

Suzanne is leading the project to streamline the centralised ethical review of multi-centre research in Victoria for the Department of Human Services. She has been a Board Director since November 2005 and brings extensive experience in medical research and ethics. Suzanne has managed research programs at Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute and the Murdoch Children's Research Institute. International appointments include the University of Oxford (UK), Pasteur Institute (Paris, France), Radiobiology Institute (The Netherlands). Suzanne holds other directorships in health and agricultural sectors.
