Diversity at Latrobe Regional Hospital

Gippsland is a culturally diverse region and Latrobe Regional Hospital recognises it must respond to people with different cultural, linguistic, physical and religious needs.

Mid 2007, Latrobe Regional Hospital established a Diversity Taskforce comprising both staff and community members to assist in developing and implementing the Hospital’s Diversity Plan.

The Plan includes establishing partnerships with specialist agencies and ethnic communities, creating a more culturally responsive workforce and a greater sense of awareness of diversity across the health service.

Diversity includes (but is not limited to): physical ability, ethnicity, gender, culture, age, race, sexual orientation, political and other beliefs, socio-economic status, religious beliefs; and intellectual ability.
