Cardiology

Latrobe Regional Hospital cardiology service provides consultation and treatment to clients with heart conditions.

All clients are seen by appointment on a referral basis other than pacemaker checks.

Services offered

·         Electrocardiograms (ECGs)

·         24 hour Holter monitoring

·         Ambulatory Blood Pressure monitoring (ABPM)

·         Exercise/Stress testing

·         Pacemaker checks

Pacemaker checks can be organised by telephoning for an appointment.

It is recommended that pacemaker checks be carried out every six months.

Costs

Latrobe Regional Hospital is able to bulk-bill patients for all cardiology services except for Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring.

This service does not have a Medicare item number, so patients are required to pay prior to the testing.
