Prevention and Recovery Care Services (PARCS)
The Prevention and Recovery Care Service (PARCS) is a 10
bed residential rehabilitation and recovery facility, for adults with mental
health problems requiring short-term stays of up to 28 days. PARCS is a
collaboration between SNAP Gippsland Inc and Latrobe Regional Hospital Mental
Health Services.
PARCS is a supported residential service for people
experiencing a significant mental health problem but who do not need or no
longer require a hospital admission. PARCS provides a service option for
people whose treatment and recovery is better suited to an intensive
short-term treatment and support approach in a residential setting; provides
a mix of clinical, psychosocial and other supports that enable gains from the
period in the inpatient unit to be strengthened and care plans to be
consolidated and supplements crisis intervention and enhances access to
inpatient services through the prevention of unnecessary inpatient admissions
and the provision of an intensively supported early discharge alternative.
