Overview of the
Career Development Program
Our Career Development Programs (CDP)
offers a dynamic and well-structured year.
Latrobe Regional Hospital’s overall goal is to help
staff provide quality patient care, and we achieve this by giving you the
opportunity to build on your existing knowledge and skills in a friendly and
well-supported environment.
The aims of the program are to:
·
Provide Registered Nurses
(Division one) with the opportunity to gain experience in new areas, in a
supported environment
·
Provide a formal education
program, that will develop the participant’s clinical skills, knowledge, and
critical thinking ability, thereby increasing learning
·
Assist Registered Nurses
to decide whether they would like to undertake postgraduate studies
The Career Development Programs run
for 12 months, and comprise rotations through two units.
The only exception is the
Haemodialysis CDP (which is six months long).
There are excellent employment
prospects, and opportunities to take on postgraduate studies, after your
Career Development Program year.
