for three months with the first and third rotations being on the same unit to
assist you in developing your clinical skills, knowledge and the important
feeling of belonging. We have found that three rotations are the most
popular option for Graduate Nurses. This will enable you to gain solid
experience in several areas, whilst in the supported Graduate Nurse Program.
By the end of the program you will spend six months in a general area and six

Employment
Opportunities
Career
Development Program (Transition Program)
The Career Development Program commenced
at Latrobe Regional Hospital in 2006. The aim of the program is to provide
rotations through departments over one year, for nurses and midwives to
develop their skills and networking with other wards. Extensive clinical
support is provided throughout each rotation, and it is a good opportunity
for nurses and midwives to develop their nursing skills and to see if they
would like to work in certain departments.
The program is intended for
nurses/midwives who are registered in Division One, and who have at least
twelve months experience or more in nursing and/or midwifery.
Over the past
several years, all nurses completing the Graduate Program have been offered
employment. Over 95% have chosen to remain at Latrobe Regional Hospital.
