
Tarra Unit
Tarra Unit cares for orthopaedic and paediatric patients
and is the regional referral centre for orthopaedics.
The Unit's staff are committed to providing a safe and
caring environment for patients and their families.
The Unit has 10 designated paediatric beds and provides a
full suite of paediatric services.
Tarra Unit works closely with the Royal Children's
Hospital's Shared and Home Care programs.
The Shared Care program enables children that have been
seriously ill at the Royal Children's Hospital to be transferred to Tarra
Unit for care closer to their homes.
The Home Care program allows families with ill children
living in the community to gain support from Home Care nurses.

Latrobe Regional Hospital paediatric services provide
specialist consulting and surgical service for children.
Children and their parents/guardians attend the clinic to
undergo consultation with their paediatric surgeon prior to and following
surgery and to receive ongoing treatment and care.
All clients are seen by appointment on a referral basis.
