The Latrobe Regional Hospital Clinical Nurse Consultant
Infection Control ensures that the Hospital has effective procedures in place
to prevent
the development and spread of infections to patients,
visitors and staff.
To ensure all infections are contained, the Infection
Control Nurse conducts regular audits of clinical areas, patient records and
microbiological reports.
Latrobe Regional Hospital’s environmental, cleaning and
waste disposal procedures are also audited regularly.
The Infection Control Nurse is also responsible for the
education of the community and staff on infection control issues.
