Celebrating International Women's Day

The Governor of Victoria Linda Dessau encouraged guests at Latrobe Regional Hospital's International Women’s Day luncheon to “work well and work hard”, and she undoubtedly leads by example in this regard.

After a long day of International Women’s Day functions in Melbourne, the Governor ventured to the Traralgon Vineyard the next day to speak to 155 guests at our annual event.

It was a warm and inspiring presentation in which the Governor urged women to have confidence in their abilities to be a leader in their field, whether at a professional level or in the community.

Echoing the gender parity theme of International Women’s Day, the Governor asked women and men to ramp up efforts to close the gender gap to ensure equal access to professional opportunities and help build a more inclusive society.

The luncheon was a fundraiser for our new Heart Appeal. If you would like to know more about raising money for the appeal, contact Fundraising Manager Kylie Gore on 5173 8577 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
